The common publication template displays a CITATIONS box beside PDF and SLIDE. Until a count is verified, it shows an em dash, not zero, and links to an exact-title Google Scholar search.
To record a verified count, add these front matter fields to the corresponding file in _publication:
citation_count: 12
citation_url: "https://scholar.google.com/scholar?cites=VERIFIED_CLUSTER_ID"
citation_checked: "2026-11-05"
The values above are illustrative, not verified data. Copy the actual Cited by URL and count from Google Scholar. Zero is displayed when explicitly supplied. Counts are manually maintained snapshots, not automatically updated. The checked date is shown in the link tooltip. Preserve the existing publication content and links.
